Shabby Chic in Phillipi Creek: Part Two
Remember that bridal shower we were telling you about? It happened…and it was fabulous…no, it was stunning…and elegant…and luxurious…and… honestly, we could go on and on about Tia’s Bridal Shower! It was everything (and more!) we hoped it would be, and we can FINALLY reveal all the details (with photos, of course!) that we have been keeping top-secret for what seems like far too long.
We watched the weather report for weeks, and despite overcast skies, the looming rainclouds held off until later that day. The bride-to-be arrived promptly at 12:30pm, her guests shortly thereafter. After immediately being transported in what could have easily been mistaken for a real-life version of your most perfect Shabby Chic Pinterest board, and before they could even utter the word “wedding,” guests were greeted with champagne in gold-rimmed flutes (on a silver tray, nonetheless) which matched the gold-rimmed and hand printed escort cards, and the gold-rimmed china and gold flatware at each place setting (see where we’re going with this?)
Blush colored linens covered each of the tables which were adorned with blush and cream colored chandelier-like floral arrangements draped with crystals and pearls – reminiscent of the two crystal chandeliers hanging from the beautifully draped ceiling. Each gold chiavari chair was wrapped with a delicate sash made of lace and satin ribbon and tied together with a cream colored rose. Get the picture? It doesn’t end there!
Guests dined like royalty, savoring twists on classic dishes such as tuna and salmon ceviche, bamboo skewered caprese salad, spinach, mushroom & tomato quiche and beef carpaccio rolls with shaved parmesan, arugula and olive oil. We barely had time to take note of the chicken waldorf salad, vegetable summer rolls, and crabmeat & avocado tacos before they disappeared! And that was just one half of the menu!
In our previous post, we warned guests to save room for cake and fortunately (unfortunately for us!) everyone did, because the cake was G.O.N.E.! Look at this cake!
It’s GOLD! And BLUSH! With a delicate LACE design! Oh…and…it was honey almond flavored, hand-delivered by angels from heaven (we’re only kidding…kind of…)
If you haven’t yet left in search of the other desserts we forgot to mention (mini red velvet cupcakes, French macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries, and white chocolate & lemon curd cake pops…), take a look at the oasis we put together for Tia and her guests to comfortably lounge while Tia opened gifts and toasted friends and family.
No shower is complete without presents – for everyone! Remember those favors we were telling you about? We wish we had been one of the lucky recipients! With the help of her maid-of-honor (and sister), Tia presented each of her lovely guests with a luxurious trio including a hand poured lavender and vanilla scented soy candle made from a vintage wine bottle, a bottle of Essie’s classic “Ballet Slippers” nail polish, and a “Tisty Tosty” bath bomb from Lush – all neatly wrapped in a gift box covered with shimmering gold paper and tied with blush colored satin ribbon and a cream colored rose. When was the last time you received a favor like that?! Never? Neither have we. To quote one of the guests, Tia’s shower was the “shower of the century!"
We couldn’t have been happier with the way Tia’s shower came together. It was, in a word: PERFECT! We should do this for a living…
