Seeing Pink at the American Girl Sunday Soiree
If you happened to catch a glimpse of our most recent event this past Sunday at The Mall at University Town Center, you may have noticed the overwhelming display of pink, pink, and more pink in Center Court! Wondering what all that pink was about? On Sunday, July 26, we had the opportunity to treat 104 mothers and daughters (and one very cooperative dad!) to a fabulous SOLD OUT American Girl Sunday Soiree! We helped American Girl, Williams-Sonoma, and Lilly Pulitzer successfully put together an event that every little girl fantasizes about!
On Sunday afternoon, just before the rain started POURING down, young girls with their moms and favorite American Girl doll in tow, filtered into the hot pink adorned-space we created for this event. Thirteen of our most favorite American Girl dolls were chosen as table names, and each table was covered with pink placemats, pink utensils, pink menu cards, pink floral centerpieces, pink tulle chair treatments… did we mention it was pink?! See for yourself just how fabulous this set up was!
And what would any mother-daughter event be without a tea party? Guests nibbled on bite-size finger sandwiches layered on delicate glass cake stands. Even the pickiest eaters enjoyed snacking on the array of cheese, chicken salad, ham & cheese, and strawberry preserves & cream cheese sandwiches, specially provided by Sophie’s at Saks Fifth Avenue. As for the tea, our good friends at Teavana cooled everyone down with refreshing strawberry lemonade and youthberry wild orange blossom iced tea.
No tea is truly complete without sweets! And Williams-Sonoma had just the thing! American Girl and Williams-Sonoma recently launched a brand new line of bakeware and this event was the perfect opportunity to showcase the partnership! Huge thanks to Williams-Sonoma for their fabulous cooking demonstration – more Madelines, please! We loved how all the girls covered them in chocolate frosting and (LOTS!) of pink sprinkles!
We also need to brag a little (okay, a lot!) about our awesome event emcee, Tanya. With her upbeat attitude, she got moms, daughters, and even some dolls on their feet dancing to fun beats like “Shake it Off” and “Happy,” making for a giant dance party right in Center Court!
Several lucky attendees went home with fabulous raffle prizes, like a Pandora bracelet, that Williams-Sonoma American Girl bakeware we were talking about, a UTC gift card, and one was even lucky enough to go home with, Grace, this year’s American Girl doll of the year!
Oh, and Lilly! Oh My Lilly Pulitzer! Amy and her “Lilly Print Parade” put on a to die for fashion show! Mothers and daughters (some as young as 10 months…awww!!!) showed off the latest and greatest in Lilly fashion – too cute!
We're still seeing pink, but we loved every minute of Sunday's sold-out Soiree!
