Dick Vitale is the V Foundation’s leading fundraiser and cause champion for the pediatric cancer research initiative. Since the first Dick Vitale Gala in 2006, this event has raised more than $126 million for cancer research—including $26 million last year alone, thanks to the generosity of so many.

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano with one goal in mind: to achieve Victory Over Cancer.

Since its formation in 1993, the V Foundation has funded over $500 million in game-changing cancer research grants in North America through a competitive process strictly supervised by a world-class Scientific Advisory Committee. Because the V Foundation has an endowment to cover administrative expenses, 100% of those direct donations are awarded to pediatric cancer research and programs.
